History
CHC (formerly MEGALS Rural Health Association) was formed by a group of interested citizens and became chartered in South Carolina in June of 1977. Over the years the corporation has grown to its current size and is now providing services in fourteen locations throughout the service area.
CHC has a staff of over thirty healthcare providers which includes family practice physicians, pediatricians, and nurse practitioners. Our friendly support staff assists these providers at each CHC location.
CHC locations accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurances. Our centers offer an income-based, sliding fee discount program for eligible patients.
This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
