CHC Navigators Win Health Equity Award in Laurens County

Alejandra Perez, Infectious Disease Care Navigator, and Sandra Alvarez, Behavioral Health Navigator, have been awarded the Health Equity Award by the Laurens County Prevention Coalition.

Sandra and Alejandra were recognized by the coalition with the Health Equity Award for their dedication to reducing barriers and improving access to care for Laurens County residents. Through ongoing advocacy, education, and community engagement, they have helped address disparities and reduce stigma, making a meaningful impact on health equity in the community. This achievement is worth celebrating and serves as motivation to continue the important work ahead.

“Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges”

Under the No Surprises Act

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

FTCA FQHC

We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and we provide affordable healthcare and pharmacy services to everyone.

No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay.

 

We offer a "Sliding Fee Scale" (SFS) that is based on family size and income. If you qualify for the SFS, you can pay less for the care you receive from us.

This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).
